1. Do you agree with the article? Why? Why not?
Yes Im agree, because our society, its base on these stereotypes, despite our society has had advances in the equality of woman and mens, still are a lot to been done.
2. Which gender stereotypes do you think are based on biological factors?
I think that none of the stereotypes are based on biology factors because we invent all that stuff, obviously there are differences between men and woman, but there are not based in biology arguments, there are based in cultural arguments
3. Give your opinion about 3 female and 3 male stereotypes from the list. Which are true / untrue in your country / hometown / family? Give examples.
-Women are not politicians:I think that these is false because now in Chile we have a woman president, but whenever a woman have a position of power, the people think that is beause she is cute o have a nice body.
-Women are responsible for raising children: In Chile happens that there is a lot of single mothers because the father left his family, but I think that raising children, has to be a task of the father or the morher.
-Women don’t play sports: In same sport exist more stereotypes than in others, for example football or rugby.
-Men are not nurses, they are doctors: I think that now there are more female doctors than before, but nurses are stella lot of woman and a few man. I hope that some day more male studied nurse, because I think that a lot want to do it, but they dont do it, because they are scare.
-All men enjoy working on cars: I do not run very well and am a man! It is complicated, in my family my aunt bought a car and learned to drive together. It's not easy, I get nervous driving and stress at all times.
-Men are good at math: I do not like math and enter this race thinking it would not mathematics, but in the first half and I had to do was very difficult.
